The “Paradise City” star took to Instagram to share the heartfelt photo with his children, captured outdoors against a wintry background. For the occasion, John and Ella wrapped up warmly in dark jackets and scarves, while Benjamin opted for a casual look in a short-sleeve navy T-shirt.
John captioned this post, “Happy new year from the Travolta family.” The actor shares Ella, and Benjamin, with his late wife, Kelly Preston, who passed away in July 2020. Fans were thrilled to see the trio ringing in the new year together, with many highlighting their striking family resemblance.

John Travolta and his kids hold each other closely having experienced the loss of more than one close family member. The actor lost his first-born child, Jett Travolta, in 2009. His sudden death shocked the family deeply. Jett tragically died at the age of 16 while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas.
The family’s lawyer at the time, Michael Ossi, shared that Jett suffered a seizure at their vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. Police spokeswoman Loretta Mackey reported that the teenager was found unconscious in the bathroom by a caretaker around 10 a.m.
Jett, who had a history of seizures, had hit his head in the bathtub and was rushed to Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
John keeps the memory of his late son close to his heart, often sharing heartfelt tributes on what would have been Jett’s birthday. In 2022, he posted a touching photo with the caption, “My dearest Jetty, I miss you more than words can say. I think about you every day. Happy Birthday. Love, your Dad.”

Since the passing of his wife, John has remained a steadfast presence in his children’s lives, offering them unwavering love and support through every moment. When Ella first started writing her music, she looked to her dad for guidance.
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ella had recorded several voice notes on her phone, capturing song ideas and melodies she had created, often using her ukulele. After crafting a few, she felt it was time to share them and chose to play them for her father.
Ella recalled her dad’s response, “He was like, ‘Oh, wow, you should really finish these. You should finish these songs, and then, you could record demos of them or something.'” This encouragement from her dad made the “Little Bird” singer focus more on her music.
The 24-year-old also gets advice on the entertainment industry from her dad. “I run things by him a lot. He’s a complete role model for me and one of the biggest things also that he does is he’ll give me advice. The best advice that I’ve gotten obviously is from him,” she shared.
Even so, Ella appreciates that her father gives her the freedom to make her own decisions, trusting her instincts and allowing her to take the lead. This bond she shares with her dad extends to her brother. Benjamin listens to Ella’s songs before they are released and shares his opinions with her. “They’re so supportive,” she gushed.
Today, despite the challenges they’ve faced, Ella, John, and Benjamin continue to share a strong and loving bond, supporting one another as they navigate life together.
