Billie Eilish and Finneas have publicly supported Kamala Harris for president instead of Donald Trump. They shared a video on Instagram to mark National Voter Registration Day, urging their fans to register, vote early, and choose the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz team.
Eilish said, “We’re supporting Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are working hard to defend our rights to make choices about our bodies, take care of our environment, and keep our democracy strong.”
Finneas said, “We shouldn’t let extremists take charge of our lives, our freedoms, and our future. The best way to fight against them and the risky Project 2025 plan is to vote and choose Kamala Harris.”
“Vote like your life depends on it, because it does,” Eilish concluded.
Eilish and Finneas are the newest music stars to support Harris in the past few weeks. One of the most significant celebrity endorsements for the Harris campaign was from Taylor Swift. She shared her support right after the first presidential debate between Harris and Donald Trump. Swift mentioned that Harris “stands up for the rights and issues I think need a strong advocate. I see her as a talented and steady leader, and I believe we can achieve so much more in our country if we have calm leadership instead of chaos.”
Hillary Clinton recently did an interview where she talked about how celebrity endorsements can really help get people excited to vote in elections. She mentioned that Taylor Swift, in particular, has a special way of making an endorsement powerful.
Clinton said, “Her fans are super passionate and really look up to her. She’s a singer who shares her life story, and people see their own experiences in it. Plus, she bravely confronted a guy who touched her inappropriately and fought to reclaim her music from someone she believed stole it. She shows a lot of strength in taking charge of her life, which sends a powerful message. I really admire her. I believe her support means a lot.”
